Nursing 2000 has been previously awarded places on both the LAP1 & LAP2 framework agreements. We have also secured a place on the LNR & Trent Framework agreements and have recently been awarded a place on the LAP3 project, which came into effect in August 2005.
We have been awarded the highest possible 3 STAR LAP rating, after an audit of Quality Standards by the NHS PASA group. We supply Registered, Pead, Homecare, Palative Care for both the Public Sector and the NHS.
Nursing 2000 has built up a good rapport with several other agencies that have acted as secondary suppliers. Nursing 2000 has learned how to deal with secondary agencies efficiently, putting our clients needs to the fore front.

Our database clearly shows:
- Health Care Professionals qualifications / experience / courses attended
- NMC pin details. An alert notifies us one month before a nurse's NMC pin card is due to expire
- All contact details / next of kin etc
- Any previous complaints
- Detailed reports which can be tailored to our client's particular needs

- How many hours staff are working to keep in line with European Working Time Directive -1998
- Date when annual statutory training is due

Our Recruitment Procedure
Our recruitment procedure is highly rigorous to ensure that only quality staff are employed. We realise that our success has been due to the healthcare professionals that we employ. Each and everyone one of them is committed to patient care.We view our recruitment procedure as being the core of our organisation. We are very proud of the calibre of our staff and know you will recognise their quality too.

Our Recruitment Policy consists of:
- Employment of all staff is dependent on Nursing 2000 receiving a satisfactory CRB check. This check also includes the Protection of Vulnerable Adults POVA. Nursing 2000 is a registered body with the Criminal Records Bureau.
- All applicants must provide two references from their most recent employers. The referees must be known to the applicant in a professional capacity, and be a senior grade to the applicant. References are only sent to work addresses.
- Every applicant undergoes a face to face interview before they begin work. The interview is carried out by a suitably trained person. The applicant's strengths are discussed together with the areas in which they would like to work. Training needs are also discussed.
- Any breaks in the applicant's work history are examined and explained, e.g. travelling, looking after children.
- Applicants must be seen by our Occupational Health Department. Nursing 2000 employs a full time Occupational Health Nurse (OHNC). Our Occupational Health Department has the use of a facility whereby our staff bloods can be taken for serveral investigations. Results are back within 24 hours. A full vaccination history is sought and verified. Hep B & HEP C titre levels need to show immunity 100mmols; BCG history certified, Varicella Chicken Pox and Rubella immunity levels information obtained. Once the Occupational Health Department is satisfied that the applicant has met our strict criteria, it issues a "fitness to work certificate"
- NMC card copied and verified with NMC. A copy of the RN's statement of entry onto the NMC's register is also copied.Qualified Staff only
- Applicant's previous course certificates, e.g ENB courses, are copied and kept with applicant's file.
- Photo I.D is required to verify persons identity Passport or Driving Licence
- A copy of driving licence is required if the nurse is to use their car while performing their role. Staff are also notified that they must notify their insurance company of this.
- Work permit is verified if necessary.
- Applicants must complete Nursing 2000's in-house training prior to starting work. This consists of Fire & Safety, CPR, Lone Worker Policy, Manual Handling, Prevention of Abuse working with vulnerable adults and children All candidates receive a certificate to show that they have completed the training. All in-house courses are taught by a suitably trained person.
Induction Programme
Once all of the above has been carried out, and the applicant has been deemed fit for work, the induction programme begins.We believe that a good orientation is essential if the new member of staff is to feel confident in their new position.
- Staff are informed about Nursing 2000's clients. Information can be tailored to each individual client as directed.
- Staff are informed of Nursing 2000's policies and procedures.
- Our company hand book is issued to each new member of staff. This includes information that has been approved by the Purchasing & Supplies Agency for the NHS PASA. All staff are required to sign and date the handbook.
- New members of staff are shadowed on their first shift by an experienced member of staff, where possible.
- Job specifications are given to the new staff members so that they fully realise their role and responsibilities.
- Staff receive their Nursing 2000 I.D. badge showing a recent picture, NMC number RN's only and expiry date. All of our staff are informed that they MUST take their i.d badge to every placement.
Ongoing Quality Assurance
After a member of staff has been placed, we have a rigorous quality assurance programme un-rivalled by anyone.- When one of our Healthcare professionals starts a new position, one of Nursing 2000's recruitment consultants will give you a courtesy call after the first day, to ensure that the staff member is settling in. There will also be a follow up call after seven days.
- Every six months, questionnaires are sent out to obtain feed back about the nurse's performance. This forms part of the nurse's appraisal loop. Download the questionnaire here: Coming soon.
- Each staff member has a formal appraisal, at least every six months. This is used as a platform to ascertain individual training requirements, and also to find out any areas of concern that the nurse may have. When a nurse has previously had an appraisal, the recommendations from the previous one are discussed and reviewed.
- All staff undergo annual training in Fire & Safety, CPR, Lone Worker Policy, Manual Handling, Prevention of Abuse working with vulnerable adults and children
- We also provide training in RIDDOR, COSHH & COLDICOT
- All staff receive an annual Occupational Health Screening. This ensures that the nurse's vaccination history is up to-date, and that the nurse is deemed "fit to work."
- Nursing 2000 welcomes regular meetings with clients to discuss staff performance. The information collated after such meetings is used to help us improve the service we provide.
